P2P: Life of the Physician Satisfaction Survey (LPSS)
The Center for Health Futures seeks partners who want to understand and communicate with physicians about the challenges they face across the spectrum of their professional lives. The Life of the Physician Satisfaction Survey (LPSS) has strong internal reliability and four subscales: work environment, work tasks, work relationships, and personal life. We encourage you to share data with the Center to increase the value of your LPSS findings (do not include personal identifying information). Contact us to request a licensing agreement to use the LPSS under your own cover letter and identity or logo, alone or within a larger survey you create, on paper or online. We can analyze your data for you if you wish to contract for this help.

P2P: Peer Assessment of Physician Communication Strengths and Areas for Improvement
You enlist a physician communication champion, and we help your champion make a difference. Based on state-of-the-art multi-source feedback methods, this physician-inspired process promotes physician interest in improving communication, as well as confidential and evidence-based self reflection among physicians. Participants receive validated ratings on 16 competencies covering interaction with patients and families and care team members in face-to-face, telephonic and written communication.

P2P: Physician-Staff Communication
DVD-based CME (1.0 hours)
Communication is the root cause of most medical errors and most sentinel events. This quick moving program was designed and developed by and for physicians. Topics include nonverbal communication, cultural competence, active listening, managing anger, and SBAR—an easy-to-remember, protocol for framing critical conversations. Florida Hospital Interpreter Services
According to the Joint Commission's study, Hospitals, Language, and Culture: A Snapshot of the Nation, over 37 million Americans are foreign-born, and 54 million speak a language other than English at home. Over 300 different languages are spoken in the United States. Research has shown that a lack of sensitivity and responsiveness to the linguistic needs and beliefs of different cultures impacts healthcare quality, safety and patient satisfaction. Florida Hospital Interpreter Services provides access to qualified interpreters for its patients and guests to assist in facilitating clear communication across language barriers.
